Education in the arts is an integral part of the development of each person and a vital component toward improving learning througout all academic areas.
Three shows are presented each year; a musical and a play both directed by theatre teacher Shana Prentiss, and student productions written and directed by seniors of St. Teresa's Academy. All aspects of the productions, from stage management to lighting design, from costume to the makeup crew, are student-lead and student-organized, giving students a greater sense of ownership over their productions.
Students experience a wide range of experiences throughout the school year in Concert Choir, A Cappella Choir, STA Singers, or our piano classes. Music is vital to rigorous academic environment, with studies showing that students who participate in music have higher standardized test scores in math, foreign language, and creative writing.
St. Teresa's Academy offers over 20 Visual Arts classes that include Drawing , Painting, Fibers & Textiles, Ceramics, Art Portfolio, Computer Illustration & Animation, and Layout & Design.
Whether interested is in dance, yoga, pilates, ballet, modern, or jazz fundamentals, students will learn choreographic principals and fundamentals technical skills, from beginner to itermediate levels. Student performances, including original compostions, are an important and fun aspect of dance.
